Gambaran Work-Life Balance Karyawan Multiple Careers yang Menerapkan Sistem Kerja Remote

Abstrak

Saat ini, banyak perusahaan yang menerapkan sistem kerja remote. Sistem kerja ini dimanfaatkan oleh banyak karyawan untuk memiliki lebih dari satu pekerjaan dan disebut dengan istilah multiple careers. Meskipun demikian, sampai saat ini belum ada penelitian yang menggambarkan Work-Life Balance (WLB) pada karyawan yang memiliki multiple careers dan menerapkan sistem kerja remote. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan WLB pada karyawan yang memiliki multiple careers dan menerapkan sistem kerja remote. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan empat informan yang merupakan karyawan dengan multiple careers dan menerapkan sistem kerja remote. Terdapat keunikan pada hasil penelitian yang dapat dilihat dari setiap jawaban informan yang dapat dikelompokan menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu informan yang sudah menikah dan yang belum menikah. Informan yang sudah menikah merasa dapat mengimbangi WLB secara proporsional. Sedangkan, informan yang belum menikah merasa belum dapat mengimbangi WLB secara proporsional. Meskipun demikian, pada akhirnya semua informan mengatakan bahwa mereka senang dengan apa yang mereka jalankan karena adanya support system.

Abstract

Many companies are currently implementing remote working system and this allows employees to have more than one job. For these people, they are referred as employees who are having multiple careers. However, there is not yet a study focussing on these people. Thus, the aim of this current study is to illustrate work-life balance of employees who have multiple careers and working remotely. This research adopts a qualitative approach involving four informants and using thematic analysis. One interesting result shows that married employees with multiple careers are better in balancing in work and life than those who are not. In sum, all participants feel happy about their daily job because of the support system.
